War Stories
How do journalists deal with war? Find out in this exhibition, which consists of video interviews with reporters about their reflections on being a war correspondent. The site also reveals how technology and media coverage has changed over time. Browse through the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and the Bosnia/Kosovo conflict to read about the coverage, reporting and technology of each one. You can also check out an essay by historian and journalist Harold Evans, entitled, "Reporting in the Time of Conflict," for a written first-hand account. The site also displays a selection of artifacts from the exhibition, including a World War II stretcher and Gulf War body armor.
